A letter for you

Dear you,

We are drawn to the space around a curve as much as the curve itself. Here, a piece of natural wood bends through the round composition, with its grain and bark edges still visible. Depending on how you look, it might suggest an island, a river, or simply a shape you enjoy. We do not want to decide that part for you.

The preserved moss is not one uniform surface. Sculptural mounds and trailing moss create different levels around the wood, giving the green areas their own rhythm. The matte black aluminum frame holds these irregular forms within a simple outline. We like that relationship: an orderly edge, with natural shapes that do not have to become orderly themselves.

You may prefer a room with only a few objects, each given enough space to be noticed. This piece can belong to that kind of setting without losing its detail. From farther away, there is the circle and the curve; closer up, there are smaller changes in texture. We hope both ways of looking feel worth your attention.

With care,
