A letter for you

Dear you,

There is room for your gaze to travel across this piece. Its horizontal arrangement lets the wood's grain and natural edges lead from one part of the composition to another, rather than gathering everything around a single point. We enjoy that slower way of reading a surface, following a line before noticing what sits beside it.

The wood slab is surrounded by preserved moss in different greens, layered by hand to build a dimensional texture. From a distance, those areas can read as larger shapes; closer up, the surface becomes more varied. A slim black frame sets a simple limit around the arrangement, leaving the grain, knots and changing levels of moss to provide the detail.

We hope it finds a place where you can enjoy both the wider view and the smaller one. There is no single route your eye needs to take, and no landscape you have to recognize. The piece offers a combination of materials; the connections you make between them are yours. That seems a good way for a handmade object to become part of a home.

With care,
