Our story / Oh Handmade

Handcraft, with a place
in everyday life.

Oh Handmade starts with a simple belief: the value of an artwork lies not only in its finished appearance, but also in the care behind it. Natural materials, thoughtful composition and the choices made by hand all have a place in that story.

Artwork can bring texture to a quiet corner, draw your attention to a wood grain, or offer a small moment of nature. We want to help you find a piece that belongs in your space.

Preserved moss, wood and the details that make a piece.

The material is part of the design.

Preserved moss brings depth and varied texture. Wood brings grain, edges and shapes that are not perfectly uniform. In our collection, these elements can sit alongside other details, with the materials for each design explained on its product page.

We consider how textures sit together, where moss adds depth and how a frame holds the composition. Natural variations give a piece its character; clear sizes and product information help you understand what you are choosing.

Care is a series of small choices.

Handwork is visible in the decisions that shape a piece. How does a wood feature sit within the frame? Where should moss add depth, and where should the composition feel lighter? How do the details read when you step back, and what do you notice when you move closer?

Our videos offer glimpses of handwork and finished details, not a complete account of every method used for every design. We share them to make the materials and care behind a piece easier to see.

Handcraft heritage

Respect for knowledge carried by hand.

We respect the handcraft knowledge and artisan spirit carried by intangible cultural heritage. For us, that respect begins with taking the knowledge behind making seriously: familiarity with a material, attention to proportion, and judgment developed through practice.

Contemporary artwork can give this respect a place in everyday life. We want to value skill, allow thoughtful decisions and leave room for the maker’s understanding of a material, bringing considered handwork into the spaces people use.

Collaboration, with respect for the makers.

We work closely with skilled artisans and keep that collaboration centered on the work. It means discussing a design, listening to practical experience, and recognizing that natural materials and handwork need time and thoughtful decisions.

We also respect the makers’ privacy. You can appreciate a carefully arranged surface without being given someone’s personal information. Our story is told through materials, shared details and finished work, while the people behind it keep their private lives private.

Respect for you starts with clear information.

A photograph can introduce a piece, but it cannot answer every question. Before you order, we want you to understand its materials, dimensions, available options, making time, delivery estimate and care. Processing and transit are separate stages, and a ready-to-ship piece is different from one made after an order is placed.

Small differences in grain, texture and arrangement should be explained, not leave you guessing about size or purpose. For care, returns or an order concern, start with the product information and our contact page. Clear communication matters before a purchase as well as afterward.

From choosing a piece to making room for it.

1. Choose your artwork

Choose a design you connect with, then review the listed sizes, materials and production type. Available product options can be ordered directly. Look at the full product information, not only the main image, so you can picture how the piece will fit your wall and your everyday space.

2. Confirm custom details

If you want a new size, palette or layout, speak with us before ordering. We will confirm what is possible, the price and the making time together. A conversation about an idea is not the same as an order or an agreed custom design.

3. Allow for making & delivery

Once you order, allow for the processing and transit stages described with your chosen piece. Keep your order details, follow the care guidance when it arrives, and contact us if you need help. This is a practical way to connect the artwork you first saw with the piece you bring into your space.

Art that finds its place in your space.

Artwork sits alongside the furniture, light and objects already in a room. You may want a small accent or a piece that changes the feel of a wall. The choice depends on its setting, not only the photograph.

Home, office or another space: start with the design, dimensions and feeling you want to create. For preserved-moss pieces, no watering or pruning is a practical benefit; natural texture and composition remain the reason to choose the art.

Let us make space for your idea.

Oh Handmade connects people who appreciate handcraft with the work and skill behind it. We want that care to be seen, used and appreciated where everyday life happens.
