A letter for you

Dear you,

A diagonal line can make a still object feel less still. Here, natural bark strips move across the composition at an angle, with green and chartreuse moss gathered between them. That repeated direction gives the piece a rhythm, while the irregular bark and clustered moss keep it from becoming a rigid pattern.

We like the difference between these surfaces. Bark has a rugged texture; the preserved moss presents a softer, more rounded one. Layering them by hand creates depth within the rectangular frame, so the arrangement is something you can look into as well as look at. The black border stays simple, allowing the diagonal forms to carry the movement.

You may have a wall that needs more than a flat color but less than a busy collection of objects. We hope this piece offers that middle ground: a defined shape with enough variation to hold your attention. It can be noticed all at once, or in small parts over time. We are glad to leave that pace to you, and to the everyday life taking place around it.

With care,
